BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. The volume of cargo unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 83 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, a total of 14,100 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port during the reporting month.
Over the 1st month, 2,990 tons of cargo were imported through this port, as well as 11,200 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for transit.
So, 2,990 tons of essential products and about 11,200 tons of crude oil and related products were unloaded through the port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
Iran's Fereidoonkenar port is located on 69 hectares of land. The port has 2 platforms and 700,000 tons of cargo can be loaded and unloaded in the port per year.
