ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 30. Over the past four years, Kazakhstan Railways has achieved record-breaking performance in the field of freight and transit transportation, Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.
The quantum of freight throughput escalated from 236 to 272
billion ton-kilometers in the fiscal year 2024. A notably
substantial uptick was observed in containerized cargo movements,
which are optimizing logistical throughput along the Middle
Corridor.
Furthermore, the throughput of containerized cargo transiting
through Kazakhstan experienced a significant escalation, surging
from 876,000 to 1.4 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).
Simultaneously, the throughput on the China-Russia-China corridor
experienced a remarkable 14-fold escalation, surging from 37.2 to
an impressive 512,200 TEUs.
The freight throughput between Kazakhstan and China has achieved a
landmark milestone, registering an unprecedented volume of 32
million tons. Moreover, the volume of intermodal freight services
utilizing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR)
has surged by a factor of 33, reflecting a significant uptick in
containerized logistics operations originating from China.
These metrics bolster Kazakhstan's positioning as a pivotal conduit
linking the Asian and European markets.
