The US sanctions target the Russian economy and are designed to mitigate the impact on the economies of other countries, including Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing the US Embassy to Kazakhstan.
As the embassy noted, the situation in Ukraine is developing rapidly, so it is difficult to talk about long-term measures and their consequences at this time.
“However, we want to emphasize that the US sanctions are aimed at the Russian economy and designed to cushion the economies of other countries, including Kazakhstan. Just as throughout all 30 years of our partnership, the US committed to helping Kazakhstan diversify and strengthen its economy,” said the embassy.
