BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is a priority central bank for the Swiss National Bank (SNB) in the context of providing technical assistance, a source at the SNB told Trend.
“The SNB provides technical assistance to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, which comprises the transfer of knowledge specific to central banks with a focus on capacity development. This usually takes the form of individual consultations with SNB experts, either at the central bank concerned or in Switzerland,” the source said.
While specific projects promoting the exchange of central bank expertise were not disclosed by the Swiss bank, it confirmed that the SNB and National Bank of Kyrgyzstan have plans to maintain their close cooperation in the future.
During a working trip of the delegation of Kyrgyzstan to Switzerland in early July 2023, several bilateral meetings took place between the chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and leaders from Switzerland's banking and financial sectors.
During the meetings, the chairman expressed gratitude to the Swiss National Bank for its support of the Kyrgyz side and the implementation of joint projects. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in introducing international banking practices and innovative banking technologies in Kyrgyzstan.
