Kyrgyzstan reports increased harvest of grain crops

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 17. A total of 1.9 million tons of grain crops (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat) have been collected in Kyrgyzstan as of September 23, 2024, which is a 37.5 percent increase over the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the yield per hectare has reached 33.4 quintals, an increase of 8 quintals, or 33 percent, compared to last year.

A total of 565,000 hectares of grain crops (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat) have been harvested in Kyrgyzstan as of the reporting date, which is a 3.5 percent increase compared to the same date last year. 94 percent of the designated areas have been harvested so far.

The gross agricultural output in Kyrgyzstan totaled 302.1 billion soms ($3.5 billion) from January through September 2024, which is 6.7 percent higher than the same period last year.
