DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 22. Tajikistan's total production of beef and small cattle (live weight) across all farms reached 368,577 tons in 2024, Trend reports.
Data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistical Agency shows that the figure increased by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
As of January 1, 2025, the livestock population in all types of farms included 2.789 million head of cattle, which is a 4.8-percent increase over the same period last year. The number of sheep and goats also grew, reaching 7.150 million head, up by 7.4 percent.
At the same time, poultry meat production across all categories of farms totaled 47,381 tons in 2024, which is a 0.7 percent increase compared to 2023.
The value of agricultural production in Tajikistan reached 73 billion somoni ($6.6 billion) in 2024, increasing by 10.6 percent year-on-year.
Tajikistan's crop production reached a value of 50.984 billion somoni ($4.6 billion) in 2024, which is a 13.4 percent increase compared to 2023. Meanwhile, livestock production amounted to 22.991 billion somoni ($2.1 billion), which is a 4.8 percent increase compared to the previous year.
