ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 13. Textile enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan exceeded production plans for various industries from January through June this year, Trend reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 12, 2024.
"The volume of cotton yarn and fabrics produced by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry is 133.5 and 122 percent, respectively, sewing and knitwear are 104.4 percent, leather goods are 118 percent," he said.
The Deputy Chairman also added that in the first six months of this year, the enterprises of the Turkmenhaly State Association fulfilled the carpet production plan by 101.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's fabric sector has been thriving, supported by substantial governmental investments and modernization efforts.
The nation has focused on integrating state-of-the-art technologies and machinery, alongside enacting reforms in laws and economic strategies to stimulate international investment. These initiatives have led to significant increases in manufacturing capabilities and enhancements in the caliber of goods.
