The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree approving the state program for 2021, Trend reports citing National News Agency of Uzbekistan.
According to the information, the program consists of 274 points, with a total cost of holding these events of 29.5 trillion soums ($2.6 billion). It is reported that in 2020 this figure amounted to 18.2 trillion soums ($10.3 billion).
It is noted that the program will be carried out within the framework of the "Year of Support for Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population" and the "Strategy for Action in Five Priority Areas of Development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021".
Thus, in order to support business in Uzbekistan the grace period for the payment of land tax and property tax by entrepreneurs in the field of tourism, transport and public catering is extended until December 31, 2021.
In addition, the calculation of penalties for property tax and land tax is suspended, and compulsory collection of tax arrears is prohibited. The amount of an interest-free deferral (installment plan) of the balance of property tax and land tax as of December 31, 2020, provided during COVID-19 pandemic, is extended until December 31, 2021.
Also, the moratorium on tax audits of entrepreneurs who pay taxes and other mandatory payments on time is being extended for the same period, with the gradual introduction of a risk analysis system to reduce the share of the shadow economy.
In addition, Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Complex will start selling silver to jewelry manufacturers through the exchange starting from March 1, and paramedics will be allowed to engage in “nursing” on a self-employment basis starting from July 1.
As for tourism sector, starting from March 1, 2021 to June 1, 2022, a mechanism is being introduced to reimburse part of travel expenses in Uzbekistan by 25 percent of the cost of an air ticket for air traffic on domestic tourism destinations for air carriers.
At the same time, travel expenses for tour operators and travel agents will be reimbursed by 15 percent of the cost of air and railway tickets for tours organized for citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, the customs duty on the import of liquefied gas and the permits required for its import will be canceled in Uzbekistan in 2021. It has been instructed to prepare a plan for the formation of a wholesale market for manufacturers and importers.
