TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 29. The number of installed ATMs and info kiosks in Uzbekistan reached 26,986 as of April 2024, Trend reports.
The data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that this figure has increased by 30.8 percent compared to the same period last year (20,617 ATMs and info kiosks as of April 2023).
Moreover, Uzbekistan installed 69 ATMs and info kiosks in one month as of April 2024.
Meanwhile, the number of POS terminals in Uzbekistan amounted to 430,066 as of April 2024. This figure has increased by 0.31 percent year-on-year (428,754 POS terminals as of April 2023).
In addition, Uzbekistan installed 430,264 POS terminals as of March 2024—a decrease from 428,838 terminals deployed in March 2023.
Uzbekistan is actively promoting contactless payment systems by popularizing NFC technology in sales and service points throughout the country and by taking measures to provide QR codes in accordance with the requirements of trade and service points throughout the country.
