TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 14. Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and AgroVoltalia (a leading French company in green energy and agriculture) signed a memorandum of cooperation, Trend reports.

The document was signed during Uzbek delegation's business trip to France.

According to the signed memorandum, a 500 kW agrivoltaic system will be implemented as a pilot project at the experimental research station of the Research Institute of Vegetable, Melon, and Potato Growing in the Tashkent region.

During the visit, members of the Uzbek delegation participated in seminars featuring international experts. Topics included solar panel installation technologies, possibilities of cultivating vegetables between the panels, and the efficient use of agrivoltaic systems.

The delegation also toured a 3 MW solar power plant located on a 4.5-hectare site in southern Marseille. The station not only generates electricity but is also used for growing vegetable crops between the solar panels.

As part of the project, farmers and dehkan households are expected to benefit from remote management capabilities, water savings, and increased agricultural yields.
