Iranian automaker Saipa's passenger car production falls

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The production of passenger cars by Iran's Saipa Automobile Manufacturing Company decreased by 19 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) compared to the same month of last year (from March 21 through April 20, 2023), Trend reports.

According to the information, Saipa Automobile Manufacturing Company produced 17,728 passenger cars in the first month. However, in the same month last year, the company produced 22,030 passenger cars.

The company produced 10,873 X200 passenger cars (Tiba, Quick, and Saina), 3,331 Shaheen, and 3,524 pickup trucks in the 1st month.

However, in the same month last year, the company produced 16,120 X200 passenger cars, 2,901 Shaheen, and 3,009 pickup trucks.

To note, Iran's three major carmakers (Irankhodro, Saipa, and Parskhodro) produced 45,916 passenger cars in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is a 21.4 percent decrease compared to the same month last year. During the same month of last year, the three companies produced 58,466 passenger cars.
