Chemical products have taken an important share from Iran’s $46.9 billion worth of non-oil exports in the last fiscal year (ended March 20).
Chemicals also stood at top of Iran’s industrial sector exports during the 12-month period, when the country exported 19.8 million tons of chemical products, worth $11,247 million.
According to the country’s industry ministry's data, Iran’s chemical products’ export registered a rise by 7 percent in terms of volume and 10.2 percent in terms of value, year-on-year.
Oil refining products stood next among the industry sector exports in terms of value. Iran exported $6,200.7 million worth of products, 15.8 percent less year-on year. The volume of the products was 16 million tons, 21.2 percent less compared to the preceding year.
Metal products stood at the third place among Iran’s industrial exports with a value of $4,799.5 million, 30 percent more year-on-year. The volume of the exports in this sector amounted to 10 million tons (49 percent more).
Food and drinking products ($3,027.7 million, 3.4 percent increase), non-metal mineral products ($1,509.7 million, 9.7 percent increase), rubber and plastic products ($1,490.2 million, 32.2 percent increase), textile products ($686.7 million, 24.5 percent increase) and machinery ($666 million, 15.7 percent increase) were among the top exports of the Islamic Republic in the industry sector.
The highest growth rate of industrial products’ exports was registered for office and accounting equipments. The exports in this field accounted for $4.5 million, 277.4 percent more year-on-year.
In the 12-month period, Iran’s total export of industrial products (including petrochemicals and liquefied gas) reached $31.176 billion, 6.4 percent more year-on-year.
