The value of export of wood and furniture from Turkey to Iran significantly dropped by 40.14 percent in the past nine months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, and amounted to $129.6 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
The ministry said that Turkey’s export of wood and furniture to Iran in September 2020 decreased by 32.27 percent compared to the same month of 2019 and made up $17.2 million.
From January through September 2020, the export of wood and furniture from Turkey to global markets declined by 1.3 percent, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $3.94 billion.
Turkey’s export of wood and furniture made up 3.6 percent of the country's total exports during the reporting period.
In September 2020, Turkey exported wood and furniture worth over $514.4 million to international markets, which is 12.4 percent more compared to the same month of 2019.
Turkey’s furniture and wood exports for September 2020 accounted for 3.4 percent of the country's total exports.
Over the past 12 months (from September 2019 through September 2020), Turkey exported furniture and wood worth over $5.47 billion abroad.
