BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. The Turkish port of Ambarli handled 7.9 million tons of cargo from January through May 2022, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told Trend.
According to ministry, 1.2 million tons of cargo was transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the port of Ambarli, and 6.7 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Ambarli handled 4.2 million tons of transit cargo from January through May 2022," ministry said.
Turkish ports handled 33.4 million tons of cargo in May 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye through local ports amounted to 2.3 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 31.07 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 7.5 million tons of transit cargo in May 2022.
Turkish ports handled 164.2 million tons of cargo from January through May 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye amounted to 11.4 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 152.8 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 35.2 million tons of transit cargo from January through May 2022.
The ports of Turkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
