Kazakhstan unveils roadmap for future Tengiz gas complex

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 14. Kazakhstan envisages the construction of a gas separation complex at the Tengiz field, Trend reports.

According to the newly adopted roadmap, the processing capacity of the facility is expected at 9.1 billion cubic meters of dry gas per year.

The Government of Kazakhstan plans to have the complex operational by 2029.

The project is expected to be implemented by KazMunayGas (subject to agreement), KMG PetroChem (subject to agreement), the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Tengizchevroil (subject to agreement), and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (subject to agreement).

Meanwhile, on October 14, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy announced a new roadmap to advance the country's oil and gas chemical sector.

Key goals include increasing production from 357,800 tons in 2023 to 1.8 million tons by 2030 and ensuring adequate raw materials for both ongoing and new projects. Six major projects, with a total investment of $14.7 billion, are set to create 3,500 permanent and 16,000 temporary jobs.
