BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Azerbaijan exported 610,027 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $628 million in the period from January through November this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee reveals that it is by $13.1 million (2.1 percent) less in value and 31,713 tons (4.9 percent) less in volume compared to the same period last year.
Exports of fruits and vegetables for 11 months amounted to 2.58 percent of the country's total imports and 20.32 percent of exports in the non-oil sector.
Azerbaijan imported 325,850 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $246.4 million in the period from January through November this year. This is more in value terms by $45.6 million (22.7 percent) and by 13,190 tons (4.2 percent) in weight terms compared to last year.
Exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to 2.35 percent of the country's total exports in 10 months.
Moreover, imports of fruits and vegetables for 11 months amounted to 1.27 percent of Azerbaijan’s total imports.
