BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. Bentonite production in Azerbaijan from January through November 2024 saw almost two-fold growth.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistical Committee shows that this figure amounted to 224,300 tons, up 105,000 tons (1.8 times) compared to the same period in 2023.
As of December 1, 2024, the finished product reserves amounted to 126,800 tons.
Meantime, from January through November last year, Azerbaijan produced 181,738 tons of bentonite clay worth $14.7 million, representing an increase of $3.1 million (26.9 percent) in value and 40,705 tons (28.9 percent) in volume compared to the same period in the previous year.
