ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 16. In December, 25,570 cars were sold in Kazakhstan, which is 8.6 percent more than in the record-setting December of 2023; consequently, sales in 2024 represent the best result in the history of Kazakhstan’s auto retail, reports Trend via the Kazakhstan Automotive Union.

The Kazakhstan Automotive Union has summarized the results of Kazakhstan’s automotive market for 2024. According to the data from the "Kazakhstan’s Automotive Union" (KAU), in 2024, official dealers sold 205,111 new cars (+3.2 percent). This result is comparable to that of 2023, which saw strong sales growth in the fourth quarter. The top 5 brands were: Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia, Chery, and Jac.

“The entire past year, despite the slowdown at the beginning, was marked by intensified competition and numerous advantageous offers from manufacturers and dealers,” said the President of the Kazakhstan Automotive Union, Anar Makasheva.

According to the organization, based on sales results for 2024, Hyundai led the top 10 most popular brands in Kazakhstan for the second consecutive year, with a market share of 21.6 percent. A total of 44,218 Hyundai vehicles were sold from January through December. The second position was taken by Kostanay's Chevrolet with 30,927 units (-32.5 percent). Kia ranked third with 23,045 units sold (-9.6 percent). The Chinese brand Chery secured fourth place with 14,883 units (+21.7 percent).
