BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 19.​ Azerbaijan’s retail trade sector saw a turnover of 9.2 billion manat ($5.4 billion) in consumer product sales from January through February 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that individual entrepreneurs accounted for sales worth 4.4 billion manat ($2.5 billion) during this period, marking an increase of 245 million manat ($144.1 billion), or 5.8 percent, compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan sold consumer goods worth 4.2 billion manat ($2.4 billion) in retail trade from January through February 2024.

As much as 50 percent of the total expenditure by consumers was spent on food products, while 4.8 percent went towards beverages and tobacco products. Textile goods, clothing, and footwear accounted for 15.1 percent, automotive fuel and diesel made up 5.7 percent, and electrical goods and furniture represented 4.6 percent. Additionally, 2.5 percent was spent on pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, 1.3 percent on computers, telecommunications equipment, and printed materials, while 16 percent was spent on other goods unrelated to food products.
