BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. The mortgage loan portfolio of banks operating in Azerbaijan amounted to 4.3 billion manat ($2.56 billion) as of late March this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows this figure's growth by 579 million manat ($341.6 million), or 15.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2024 (3.7 billion manat, or $2.2 billion).
At the end of this February, the volume of the banks' mortgage loan portfolio was 4.27 billion manat ($2.52 billion). This means that in March 2025 alone, Azerbaijani banks issued mortgage loans worth 67 million manat ($39.5 million).
To note, at the conclusion of the reporting cycle, the aggregate
loan portfolio of the regional financial institutions escalated to
27.87 billion manat ($16.46 billion), reflecting an uptick of 3.8
billion manat ($2.2 billion) or 15.7 percent relative to the
corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year (24.1 billion
manat or $14.2 billion).
In the comprehensive analysis of the loan portfolio, a substantial
14.9 billion manat (equivalent to $8.81 billion) was allocated to
business financing, while consumer credit accounted for 8.6 billion
manat (approximately $5.08 billion), and mortgage lending comprised
4.3 billion manat (around $2.56 billion).
