ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 1. Oil production at the Tengiz field for KMG (KazMunayGas) decreased by 3.7 percent in 2024, amounting to 5.56 million tons (121,000 barrels per day), Trend reports.
According to the latest report of KazMunayGas, the decrease in production is mainly due to the planned overhaul of production facilities.
"Oily production at Kashagan for KMG amounted to 2.89 million tons (62,000 barrels per day), showing a decrease of 7.2 percent. The decrease is linked to scheduled capital repairs on the slug-catcher unit in October of the reporting year," the KazMunayGas report stated.
The report also noted that oil and condensate production at Karachaganak for KMG increased by 1.0 percent, totaling 1.1 million tons (24,000 barrels per day). The growth in liquid hydrocarbon production volumes was supported by the increase in the reinjection of raw gas into the reservoir at Karachaganak's production facilities.
KMG's total oil and gas condensate production for 2024 amounted to 23,837,000 tons (490,000 barrels per day), an increase of 1.3 percent.
