ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 16. At the end of this year, the modernization work on the diesel fuel hydrotreating unit at the Pavlodar petrochemical plant is expected to be completed, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
Per the data provided, this operational framework will enable
the facility to synthesize both summer-grade and winter-grade
diesel fuel, all while sustaining the existing throughput of 2.3
million metric tons annually.
The capital allocation initiative is currently being executed by
the asset management entity of Samruk-Kazyna, KazMunayGas.
Furthermore, the synthesis of winter-grade diesel fuel will
adequately address the exigencies of the northern and eastern
sectors of Kazakhstan, ensuring a supply of premium fuel capable of
withstanding thermal conditions as low as minus 28°C.
The Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PPP) is the largest enterprise in northeastern Kazakhstan for oil refining and petroleum product production. In 2024, PPP achieved record performance: it processed 5.5 million tons of oil, producing 1.6 million tons of gasoline, 1.85 million tons of diesel fuel, 236,000 tons of aviation fuel, 321,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, and 360,000 tons of road bitumen. The processing coefficient was 73.2 percent, and the depth of processing reached 91.5 percent.
