BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The value of sales on the Iranian Energy Exchange (IRENEX) amounted to 86.7 trillion rials (about $142 million) in the last Iranian week (May 24-28).
Data obtained by Trend from IRENEX shows that the exchange sold about 218,000 tons of hydrocarbon products, valued at over 72.5 trillion rials (about $118 million).
In the localized segment of the marketplace, transactional volumes reached approximately 11 trillion rials (about $18 million) for a total of 182,000 tons of commodities. The global segment reported revenue figures approximating 61.4 trillion rials, translating to around $100 million in fiscal terms for 36,000 tons of products.
Additionally, 7.91 trillion rials (about $12.9 million) worth of electricity, totaling 401 million kilowatt-hours, was sold during the same period. Other sales at the exchange amounted to approximately 6.29 trillion rials (about $10.3 million).
The sale of hydrocarbon products on Iran's Energy Exchange is of enormous importance. Through the exchange, the country is trying to provide hydrocarbon products needed by local companies, as well as increase exports.
