TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 2. Over 500,000 Salom debit cards have flown off the shelves in Uzbekistan in a mere six months, Trend reports.
TBC Bank Uzbekistan (TBC UZ), the country’s leading digital bank, announced that its flagship product—the Salom Card—has rapidly become one of the most popular banking tools in the country since its rollout in late 2024.
The card offers 12 percent interest on balances, free ATM withdrawals and top-ups, and 5 percent cashback with partners. It is issued free of charge to citizens over 18 and is managed entirely through the TBC UZ mobile application.
The efficacy of the Salom Card has catalyzed expansion within
its digital infrastructure, encompassing the Payme payments
application and the Payme Nasiya installment financing solution.
TBC's expansive network has successfully onboarded 19.7 million
users throughout the Central Asian region.
In addressing the milestone, TBC Uzbekistan's Chief Executive
Officer Nika Kurdiani articulated that the product serves as a
pivotal component in the enhancement of the digital banking
landscape and the acquisition of novel customer demographics within
a predominantly underbanked sector.
TBC Uzbekistan operates as a subsidiary of the London-listed TBC
Bank Group, strategically leveraging its position to enhance
operational synergies and drive growth by delivering cutting-edge,
client-centric financial solutions within Uzbekistan’s rapidly
transforming digital ecosystem.
