BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. We believe in Azerbaijan's digital potential and are determined to increase investments, Mastercard’s Senior Specialist for Services Development in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Kutay Ak, told Trend.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 9th International Banking Forum held in Baku, he shared Mastercard’s perspective on Azerbaijan’s financial and digital sector.
“As Mastercard, we continue to invest in Azerbaijan. We believe in the country’s significant digital potential. For many years, we have collaborated with all leading brands and have provided strong support for Azerbaijan’s digitalization process. There is a long, but very promising path ahead. We'll continue to stand by Azerbaijan on this path and contribute to projects that accelerate digital development,” he said
The official emphasized that they are currently presenting numerous new services and products.
“These include cybersecurity solutions, management consulting, as well as innovative and inclusive products for various customer segments - from high-income groups to subprime segments. With our new solutions, we will continue to expand the Azerbaijani market further,” Ak noted.
He also spoke about Mastercard’s investments in Azerbaijan.
“I don’t want to give misleading figures. The most accurate information can be provided by our country manager. However, one thing is clear: Mastercard believes strongly in Azerbaijan. We are confident that the market here will grow further and move to a new phase. That is why we have been making significant investments in the country for years, and I have no doubt these investments will increase even more,” he explained.
The Mastercard representative also mentioned the application of Mastercard in Azerbaijan’s transport sector.
“We have projects in the transit sector. In the near future, we are conducting discussions with Azerbaijan’s relevant authorities regarding the payment of fares in public transport using Mastercard cards.
As Mastercard, we implement the application of various solutions in Azerbaijan that create added value. For example, advanced analytics, targeted analytics solutions, and bespoke management consulting services are already available to our partners. In addition, we have a specialized marketing platform called ‘on-behalf marketing services’ through which we also support our partners. In the field of security solutions, especially through cybersecurity services, we aim to contribute to Azerbaijan’s economy,” Ak concluded.
