TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 19. Uzbekistan and Slovenia discussed strengthening cooperation in the areas of pharmaceuticals, logistics, critical minerals, and supporting the entry of Uzbek products into the EU market, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.

These topics were thoroughly addressed during a meeting between Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Tanja Fajon, Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, in Slovenia.

As part of the visit, Laziz Kudratov also participated in the meeting of the Uzbekistan–Slovenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. The parties discussed expanding collaboration in trade, transport, agriculture, digital transformation, education, and other promising sectors, reaffirming their commitment to intensifying bilateral dialogue.

Following the session, the Protocol of the Commission meeting and a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries of Agriculture were signed.

Kudratov also held meetings with several Slovenian companies, resulting in agreements to advance joint projects in digitalization, aviation, human-capital development, pharmaceuticals, energy, and insurance.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Slovenia has tripled in recent years. The two sides have set an initial goal of increasing trade to 500 million euros by diversifying the product range and promoting import-substitution initiatives.
