Russia hopes to keep the volume of supplies of timber and timber products tpAzerbaijan at the level of previous years, Russian Trade Representative in Azerbaijan Yuri Shchedrin said.
"Since the introduction of the ban on export of grain in Russia, we hope that similar measures will not be undertaken in the country for the supply of timber and timber products," Shchedrin said.
According to him, despite the raised problems, Russia hopes to maintain a leadership position for the supply of timber and timber products to Azerbaijan.
Abnormal heat, raging forest and peat fires in Europe - the most densely populated - part of Russia have led to consideration of restricting exports of forest by the government.
