Iran is currently manufacturing some 20 per cent of its refineries' fixed and rotating equipment domestically, an official with the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mehdi Jamshidi-Dana stated, Fars reported.
Jamshidi-Dana added that Iran has completed over 90 per cent of its refineries repair plan.
"Some 20 per cent of spare parts which are currently used in gas refineries, are domestically made," he said.
Plans are underway to indigenize the technology of some 25,000 pieces of equipment which are used for natural gas refineries.
The Deputy Oil Minister for Technology Mohammad-Reza Moqaddam had previously stated that Iran plans to become self-sufficient in producing 19 highly used goods which are strategic to the oil industry.
The strategic goods include onshore and offshore drilling rigs, pumps, turbines and precision tools.
