Turkey's Scientific and Technological Research Council (TÜBİTAK) is developing a project for the production of rocket fuel in the country, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun said, Hurriyet newspaper reported on Monday.
According to the minister, rocket fuel is produced in only a few countries in the world. In this case, the purchase of rocket fuel from these countries is always accompanied by certain restrictions and conditions on their part and so Turkey seeks to produce this fuel.
"Now work is being carried out to build the infrastructure for the production of rocket fuel," Ergun said.
Turkey is planning to produce 100 litres of rocket fuel per day which will allow a considerable reduction in the cost of fuel consumed in the country, the Minister said.
