BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The water reserves of Iran's dams amounted to 18.1 billion cubic meters, within the first 30 days of the current water year in the country (September 23, 2022 through October 23, 2022), an official of Iran Water Resources Management Company, Firouz Ghasemzadeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to him, this is a decrease of 14 percent compared to the same period last water year.
Ghasemzadeh added that the inflow of water into the country’s dams amounted to 830 million within the mentioned period, which is a decrease of 14 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"Currently, 19 percent of the dams in Iran's Tehran Province, 11 percent in Isfahan Province, 43 percent in Khuzestan Province, and 29 percent in Lake Urmia in West Azerbaijan Province are full," he noted.
The official also said that given the country's climatic conditions and water resources, it is necessary to control water consumption in various areas.
