The value of bonds issued in Iran increased by about 103 percent during the first 9 months of the current year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
According to the statistics, about 1.5 quadrillion rials (about $35.6 billion) worth of bonds was issued in Iran within 9 months.
"While in the 9th month (November 21 through December 20, 2020), 270 trillion rials (about 6.44 billion) worth of bonds was issued in Iran. This is an increase of 1.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year," the statistics said.
In addition, the value of government bonds issued in Iran for the first 9 months of the current Iranian year increased by 90.9 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, the value of government bonds amounted to 1.2 quadrillion rials (about $28.7 billion) over the reporting period.
"However, 220 trillion rials (about $5.25 billion) worth of government bonds were issued in Iran in the 9th month. This is an increase of more than 270 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year," the statistics said.
