The value of lending allocated by Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks amounted to 16.9 trillion tenge ($39.9 billion) as of the end of September 2021, which is 3.1 percent more than in August 2021 and 18.3 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s National Bank.
The value of lending to legal persons increased by 2.1 percent amounting to 7.3 trillion tenge ($17.3 billion), whereas lending value to physical persons was 9.5 trillion tenge ($22.5 billion) which is 3.9 percent more than in August 2021.
According to the bank, the value of tenge-denominated loan value increased by 3.2 percent and amounted to 15.02 trillion tenge ($35.3 billion), whereas the value of foreign currency-denominated loans increased by 2 percent to 1.9 trillion tenge ($4.5 billion).
The value of long-term loans amounted to 14.6 trillion tenge in September 2021 ($34.4 billion) which is 3.2 percent more than in August 2021, whereas the value of short-term loans increased by 2.2 percent to 2.3 trillion tenge ($5.5 billion).
Lending to ventures of small entrepreneurship amounted to 3.1 trillion tenge in September 2021 ($7.5 billion), which is 10.5 percent more than in August 2021 and is 43.4 percent of the total value of corporate loans allocated as of September 2021.
The largest share of loans accounts for industry (32 percent), trade (21.3 percent), construction (7.5 percent), and transport (5.4 percent).
The weighted average remuneration rate on tenge denominated loans to non-bank legal entities was 11.8 percent in September 2021 compared to 12.1 percent in September 2020, whereas to physical entities it was 17.5 percent compared to 17.3 percent in September 2020.
