DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 27. Tajikistan imported a total of 9,104 electric vehicles by July 1, 2024, Trend reports.
The imported vehicles include 8,187 electric cars, 20 electric buses and minibuses, 32 electric trucks, and 865 special electric equipment, as stated by the country’s Ministry of Transport.
Additionally, the Dushanbe City Executive Authority has purchased 30 electric buses from AKIA Avesto Automotive Industry, totaling $9.9 million. These buses have been deployed in the capital.
To support the development of electric vehicles in Tajikistan, the 2023–2028 Electric Vehicle Development Program will receive a total of 228.916 million somoni ($21.562 million) in funding.
This includes 1.39 million somoni ($130,929) from the state budget, 6.156 million somoni ($579,859) from development partners, and 221.37 million somoni ($20.851 million) from the private sector.
