DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 29. The value of microcredits issued to women in Tajikistan amounted to 3.260 billion somoni ($306 million) from January through July 2024.

According to data obtained by Trend from Tajikistan National Bank, the value increased by 21.8 percent compared to the same period of 2023 - 2.676 billion somoni ($251 million).

Issued loans by type of the financial organization:

in the banks – 2.058 billion somoni ($193.467 million)

in the non-bank credit institutions – 1.917 million somoni ($180,212)

in micro financial organizations – 1.2 billion somoni ($112.809 million)

In total, the value of the microcredits extended in Tajikistan from January through July 2024 amounted to 9.489 billion somoni ($892.038 million), which is 25 percent more than 7.556 billion somoni ($710.3 million) in the same period of 2023.

As of the end of July 2024, a total of 63 credit financial organizations were operating in Tajikistan, including 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds.
