TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 13. Uzbekistan witnessed an increase in demand for the delivery of goods by road in the third quarter of 2023, Trend reports.

As per data of the international Freight Exchange and the largest ecosystem of services for transport logistics in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the number of goods placed on the platform’s applications for cargo delivery to Uzbekistan from July through September increased by 57 percent compared to the same period last year.

The primary source of growth in this context was attributed by Russia, which saw a significant upswing of 71 percent compared to last year’s calculations.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan recorded a noteworthy surge in the number of applications, surpassing the figures from the second quarter of 2023. On average, the country experienced a 19-percent increase, while Russia’s shares of applications recorded an 18 percent rise as well.

Meanwhile, the number of applications for cargo transportation to Uzbekistan from January through June increased by 77 percent compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, the dynamics slowed down in the second quarter – compared to the first quarter of 2023, the number of applications for cargo transportation to Uzbekistan decreased by 31 percent, including a decrease in the Russian direction (by 30 percent).

Overall, Uzbekistan is actively developing and modernizing its transport systems to improve the quality and efficiency of cargo transportation.

Large investments are aimed at expanding and modernizing the road network, improving transportation conditions on railways, modernizing airports and developing seaports.
