TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 1. Uzbekistan has launched a total of 15 projects in the Navoi region, Trend reports.
The news follows President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Navoi region.
Particular initiatives included the extraction and processing of oil shale in Kanimekh district, the construction of a 300 megawatt solar photovoltaic station and an electricity storage system for 75 megawatts in Karmani district, the production of technical gases in the city of Navoi, the processing of marble in Gazgan and granite in Zarafshan, the extraction and beneficiation of kaolin in Uchkuduk district, and the production of fish feed in Khatyrchi district.
At the same time, the country launched enterprises for the production of potassium sulfate and sulfuric acid in Karmani district, cotton pulp in the city of Navoi, and granite processing in Nurata district.
The total cost of the 15 projects amounts to $3.6 billion. They will create more than 7,000 jobs.
In 2023, the region manufactured industrial products worth more than 101 trillion soums and exported goods worth $648 million. The region also implemented foreign investments worth about $478 million, resulting in a foreign trade turnover of about $1.3 billion. At the same time, more than 300 foreign enterprises operate in the region.
