BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. As many as 45 industrial enterprises have been put into operation with an expenditure of 20 trillion rials (about $34.6 million) during nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024) in North Khorasan Province, located in the northeast of Iran, the chairperson of Iran's North Khorasan Province Industries, Mines, and Trade Organization Mohammad Karamian Far told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 1,247 people have been employed with the commissioning of these enterprises.
Karamian Far noted that 25 industrial enterprises are scheduled to be put into operation in the coming days in the province. With the commissioning of the enterprises, 421 people will be employed.
The official added that a steel plant will be commissioned in the Esfarayen district of the province. A total of 18 trillion rials (about $31.1 million) has been expended in this regard, and 268 people will be employed at the plant.
To note, a total of 18 industrial parks and one special economic zone are operating in Iran's North Khorasan Province. Altogether, 327 industrial enterprises have obtained licenses to operate on the territory of industrial parks and special economic zones, and 4,911 people are employed at the enterprises.
