BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Iran will launch new facilities related to the agricultural processing industry with a total investment of 60.7 trillion rials (about $94 million) during Iran's Agriculture Week (June 11–18, 2025), Karim Zolfaghari, Director of the Agricultural Mechanization and Industry Development Center of Iran told reporters, Trend reports.
He noted that 158 projects are expected to be commissioned throughout the week, enabling the processing of around 2 million tons of agricultural products. The facilities are also expected to create job opportunities for 8,720 people.
Zolfaghari added that 18 facilities will be launched in Hormozgan Province, 12 in Khuzestan Province, 12 in Kurdistan Province, and 11 in Kerman Province.
To note, Iran’s total agricultural land exceeds 12 million hectares. The country currently produces 134 million tons of agricultural products annually, with plans to increase this volume to 160 million tons by 2028.
