Iran’s insurance penetration rate reached 2.2 percent in March, an insurance official said.
Abdolnaser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance of Iran, has said the penetration rate hit 2.2 percent at the end of the last fiscal year (March 20), Ibena (Iranian banks and economy news agency) reported.
He called on the country’s insurance companies to expand health insurance coverage.
The industry's regulator further expressed his hopes that the industry would experience a considerable improvement in near future.
According to the officials, the insurance industry in the country grew by 22 percent over the last fiscal year.
