An influential member of parliament who served as the director of Security Department in Iran's Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, accused the US and Israel of providing the International Atomic Energy Agency with "fake" documents.
Head of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces (including Army Force, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps -IRGC- as well as Law Enforcement Force) is Iran's top military commander after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Esmaeil Kovsari, a member of Iran National Security and Foreign Policy commission of Iran's Majlis (parliament), who served as the director of Security Department in Iran's Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces told Trend Dec.12 that Iran has no obligation to accept the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) demands outside of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, while a part of its requests from Iran has been formed based on the "fake documents" provided by Iran's enemies Tel-Aviv and Washington.
The UN atomic watchdog, IAEA, dismissed Iran's offer of access to the Marivan region where explosives experiments of possible use in nuclear weapons development may have taken place, saying this did not address its concerns.
Reuters reported that IAEA's main priority for its long-stalled investigation into Iran's nuclear program has been to go to another location, the Parchin military base southeast of Tehran, where the Vienna-based agency says other nuclear-related explosives tests may have been conducted, perhaps a decade ago.
Kovsari said that the IAEA should submit the original and reliable documents proving the alleged military-related nuclear activities to Iran, "Iran doesn't have to give access to the IAEA to inspect its confidential military bases without getting the origin of alleged documents".
The agency carried out two visits to Parchin in January and November 2005, but Iran denied any access to the IAEA after that. The concerns about Parchin were raised again late in the last decade, when IAEA said that some completed documents were obtained, strengthening the doubts about Iran's nuclear-related explosives tests there.
The six world powers-the US, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia and China- which has been negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program, called on Iran to allow United Nations inspectors to visit the Parchin military site On March 8, 2012.
Satellite photos shows that Iran started re-structuring the land, destroying some buildings and constructing new objects there.
Kovsari said that Iran never accepts any demand out of NPT.
The treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons (NPT) is a landmark international treaty whose objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament.
