The Kremlin expects U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Russia in the first half of 2013, RIA Novosti reported.

"We hope the visit will take place in the first half of next year," the Russian president's aide Yury Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.

He said Russia is negotiating on Obama's full scale visit.

"It is necessary to choose the right time, especially without delay," Ushakov said.

It will be Obama's first visit to Russia after his re-election as U.S. President in November 2012.
