BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 9. The growth percentage of hired employees in Azerbaijan made up 0.01 percent as of November 1, 2023, smashing the same in 2022, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistics Committee.
Citing the committee's data, there were 1.72 million people employed, with 896,900 in the public sector and 832,500 in the private sector. From the total number of working people, 19.1 percent work in education, 18.5 percent in commerce and automotive repair, and 8.4 percent in health and social services.

According to preliminary data, the average monthly nominal income of employees in Azerbaijan grew by 11.3 percent from January through October 2023, reaching 921.1 manat ($541.8) from the same period the previous year.
The average monthly nominal pay was greater in the mining industry, financial and insurance operations, information and communications, and scientific and technical activities.
