Kazakhstan Railways reveals grain transportation volume for 8M2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 1. Kazakhstan has transported 5.2 million tons of grain by rail from January through August 2024, said Abzal Osipov, the Kazakhstan Railways JSC official, at the “Magistral” online expert forum, Trend reports.

According to the information, four million tons of the transported volume was sent for export. The main export destinations remain the countries of Central Asia and China (grain exports to China have grown 5.7 times over the past three years).

Moreover, Osipov noted that there were 11,875 grain trucks in Kazakhstan at the time, of which 5,763 belonged to Astyk-Trans, about 2,000 - to Kaztemirtrans, and 3,598 units - to private operators.

By the end of 2023, a total of 11 million tons of grain were transported, of which 9.1 million tons were exported, which is 19.3 percent higher than in 2022.
