ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 2. Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region farmers aim to harvest at least 35,000 tons of pearl rice during this year's harvesting campaign, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's official media.
According to the information, the prime types of rice used for harvesting, like Nöküs-2 and Bereket, were chosen after careful consideration of the local climate and weather.
This year, the total area of rice plantations in the region stretches over 8,000 hectares, with the lion's share found in two specialized farms in the district named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi.
Plus, a large fleet of specialized machinery, including more than a hundred high-performance combines of John Deere and CLAAS brands, is planned for rice harvesting.
