ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 27. During the construction of new railways in Kazakhstan, 157 bridges will be built, Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.

The construction of around 500 artificial structures, including 157 bridges, is part of the realization of infrastructure projects including Dostyk-Moyynty, Darbaza-Makataaral, and the bypass around Almaty. Some of them will reach a length of 480 meters.

Thanks to the construction of new railways, domestic construction companies have gained expertise, knowledge, and skills in railway and civil engineering. Factories have increased their capacities, modernized production facilities, and boosted the number of highly skilled specialists in various trades.

The share of local content in the works and materials for the construction of new railway lines amounts to 85 percent. More than 12,500 qualified specialists are involved. Domestic factories will supply approximately 150,000 tons of rails and over 2 million concrete ties for the construction of the new railways.

It is worth noting that Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) claims it will return approximately $1.1 billion, along with interest, to the National Fund over 20 years and will ensure tax revenues to the budget exceeding approximately $8 billion, of which approximately $204 million will be generated during the construction period.
