BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. The transshipment volume at the Astara terminal in Iran was 700,000 tons of cargo in 2023 and 814,000 tons in 2024, an increase of more than 28 percent from the same time in 2023, Trend reports via Azerbaijani Railways.
“Works on implementation of the strategic potential of the North-South corridor continue.
Azerbaijani Railways has completed the reconstruction of Astara freight terminal in Azerbaijan in 2024 to carry out the growing volumes of freight transportation along this corridor faster and more efficiently," the information notes.
