ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 10. The median wage in Kazakhstan (the central value of the wage range) in the fourth quarter of 2024 was estimated at 308,717 tenge, about $587.56, which is 10.5 percent higher compared to the same period of 2023, Trend reports via the country's National Statistics Bureau.
The increase in the average salary in the fourth quarter was driven by an increase in the payroll due to year-end bonuses and holiday bonuses.
Compared to the same quarter of 2023, the highest growth in average monthly wages was recorded in the information and communication sectors (32.8 percent), agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (22.7 percent), and real estate operations (20.3 percent). In healthcare and social services, the average monthly wage increased by 7.6 percent, and in education, it rose by 5 percent.
Regionally, the highest growth in average monthly nominal wages in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the same period of 2023 was observed in the cities of Almaty and Shymkent (13.6 percent), the Karaganda region (13.2 percent), the North Kazakhstan region (12.9 percent), and the Aktobe region (12.6 percent).
In addition, the ratio between the maximum and minimum values of the average monthly nominal wage among the regions in the fourth quarter of 2024 equaled 2.1 times.
