BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The design phase for the Horadiz-Aghband railway line is nearly finished, with about 83 percent of the work completed, while the construction and installation work stands at 63 percent, Trend reports via Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
The railway line, which stretches for over 110.4 kilometers, has seen 75.6 kilometers (including sidetracks, 87 kilometers) of track completed, with 65.6 kilometers of long-length rails installed.
The project also includes the construction of 534 engineering structures, 8 stations, and the installation of 70 track switching devices.
The Horadiz-Aghband railway line is a crucial part of the Zangezur Corridor, serving as one of the primary transportation routes connecting Azerbaijan’s main territory with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Additionally, it will enhance East-West-East cargo transportation as part of the new segment of the Middle Corridor, expanding the region's transit capabilities.
