BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Eni’s Enilive division reported a 16% year-on-year decline in bio throughputs for the first quarter of 2025, totaling 292,000 tons, Trend reports.
According to the company's latest report, the reduction was mainly due to lower processing volumes at the Chalmette biorefinery, which experienced maintenance shutdowns during the period.
Retail sales remained broadly steady at 1.78 million tons, with Italy accounting for 1.25 million tons. While gasoil sales slightly declined in the Italian market, the decrease was offset by increased volumes sold in other countries, particularly Spain.
Wholesale sales in Italy reached 2.27 million tons, down 8% compared to the same period in 2024. The drop was driven by reduced demand for gasoil, although higher jet fuel sales helped partially offset the decline.
