BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Azerbaijan imported 98 special-purpose motor vehicles from January through March of this year.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that the total cost of these imports amounted to $8.8 million.
Imports of these vehicles decreased by seven units (6.7 percent) in quantity and by $1.8 million (16.7 percent) in value compared to the same period last year.
In the first quarter of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 105 special-purpose vehicles worth $10.6 million.
The average import price per unit during the reporting period was $89,700, down $11,300 (11.2 percent) compared to the same period of last year ($101,000).
Special-purpose motor vehicles are engine-powered machines designed to perform specific functions and are typically not used for public transport or cargo. These include fire trucks, ambulances, municipal service vehicles, and similar equipment.
